Easter weekend was a blessing from start to finish! Saturday morning we enjoyed our Church annual egg hunt with friends. My kids are on the brink of being to old but sharing it with friends who have little ones make it special. In the afternoon my house was a hub of activity. Playing hostess to friend and opening up the backyard to BBQ fun is what I love! We had enough carne asada and chicken kabobs to feed an army (an army of kids which we have!). The adults enjoyed cool beverages while the kids went nuts in the pool. The weather was beautiful! Victoria and I recalled our older boys being in 2nd grade! (now they are teenagers). How time flies and nice to take it all in…thanks ALL for coming over! Every one of you made this day awesome!

Joey and his friend wanted to have a sleepover so she agreed to take them and the teenagers stayed here! Then we remembered it was Easter and the bunny would be making his rounds. I hesitantly let Joey go but realized how much fun he would have. Funny how they get older and you have to let then go. But safe to say that with friends like we have I had no qualms about sending him off and them making it special for him. I am always happy to host the teens too and Chandler is like part of the family (meaning I can treat him as my own and he shirks off my craziness like the rest of them).

Sunday Micky and I enjoyed the Easter goodies left for her and relished in the quiet boy-free time. I woke up the zombie teens with a deluxe breakfast. Then I headed to church solo for some quiet 'me' time. Flowers adorned the church and I enjoyed all the sights and sounds of the holiday.

This Easter I feel particularly blessed…the many friends who shared it with me, the kids who I realize are growing so quickly and having so many things in my life to be grateful for. Taking the time this holiday to take it all in.  I hope Easter was a wonderful and blessed day for all. Tonight I make a special family dinner to cap it off.

To those wonderful friends who came over…thank you! Let summer BBQ season begin! The pool is open….cheers!
