This weekend we had the pleasure of visiting Northern California.  I have one huge regret….I did not take my good camera to capture the beauty I experienced!!!!!!  The weather was perfect, the clouds were puffy, and the fishing a’plenty!  (I think I was tricked to go just for the fishing but I am on to him now!).  All captured from my iphone….

I took a real love to this little building overlooking the pond…..would make a great art studio

and then the real reason for our visit.  I am so on to these long time friends.  Fishing, fishing, and more fishing. When they are not fishing they are talking about fishing.

Fishing

but I was not to be outdone……..I gave it a try.  There is something to be said about “taking the girl out of Michigan but not the Michigan out of the girl”….

but you know what I loved….laying on the dock, listening to the geese, watching the clouds and just wishing I had my art journal with me!

of course I loved my time with this fella..

Just as much as I love my Art he loves his fishing.  And to see his with his long time friends…….brothers in the true sense.

New friends formed and I loved that time we spent!

It  makes you realize that no matter what you have going on in life (it is SO BUSY!), you need to stop and treasure the time you have.  Take those fishing trips, see new areas, go on an adventure AND NEVER leave your good camera and travel art supplies behind!  The laughs we had this weekend were so worth stopping the packing and their unpacking.  Thankful for the time away, their wonderful hospitality, and the beautiful sights we took in.  (even if I was tricked into more fishing).

Life is a journey, not a destination. – By letting go of what “should” happen or what “could” happen, you free up your life to various little surprises and joys.  You may not lead the exact life you want, but you will lead a meaningful, miraculous existence, guaranteed.  Life is sometimes difficult, but it’s not a chore.  Make it an adventure.  Make it fun.  Make the choice to feel good about yourself, about your world, about your possibilities and the step you’re taking right now.
