All I can say is WOW! The Relay for Life was an experience I will not soon forget.  First off, to meet my personal goal of over $1000 (I got $1120! donated) to fight cancer was one amazing thing.  Second, off to be a part of such a meaningful fight and walk in behalf of so many affected.  This started for me as a walk on behalf of my Grandma, my Uncle, my Grandpa, my Dad and I also want to mention my sister-in-law, Martha Burgos as she was in my heart and mind but to be also walking for so many of you who donated and gave me your names/stories my  heart was filled.  From start to finish I held them in my  heart.

Then there was our team led by Jeri who brought us all together.  We discussed that she brought us all together for a reason and it was to ROCK IT in memory of her Dad.  I think I felt most proud this morning at 6:30 am when someone said "your team shirts and matching jackets are so beautiful" (THANKS SHAWN!) and asked me "are you the team that raised over $8000?"  I proudly said yes and she said "that is amazing for a first time team".  Way to go Team All Night For the Fight

With that said, our total was over $8300 donated as a team.  The Event raised over $40,000 to fight Cancer!

I so wanted to document this with pictures but also just experience it so here are some mini video clips (sorry, just realized that if you are not a Facebook friend of mine you cannot view vides…Friend Me!)!

just a walking along……

Life at our camp…

6:30 am……this one speaks for how much I love mornings (after camping!)

 And a slide show re-cap……

I am also proud to say that our team had a reprsentative walking at ALL times on the track for that 24 hours.  Few teams can say that and yes, I did not volunteer for those wee hour hours and grumbled when I took over at 6:30 am but I was proud to be a part of it.  I got in over 18 miles and now have swollen ankles and a filled heart as a remembrance.

As for those who talked (Bullied!) Kelly and I into roughing it Saturday night and guilting us into spending the night………THANK YOU.  You know which bullies you are!  You were right in that we needed to stay and the belly laughs we had into the wee hours of the morning just capped it off.  Like I said that night, everything that came out of our mouths was ridiculously funny and silly and we would never remember it in the morning.  I swear I laughed until I was sick.  I was thankful for those few hours of shut eye only to wake up and laugh again.  I will never forget the tone of Cindy's voice when she said "Girls, go to sleep…don't make me come in there".  Cindy who walked 40 miles I might add!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this experience.  I feel changed from it and realize that one person can make a differnce with each small step that we take!

and with that said…off to soak my ankles!
