Today I thought I would keep it light and share my new obsession.  We have some occupants who are eating us out of house and home in sugar water….

Hum2

They have discovered our new feeder and I am obsessed with them…

Hum5I am turning into the regular bird lady…as captured by my fella…(he thinks it is funny I got the feeder for him!)

hum6They are just so interesting and seem to move at my same pace.  As summer starts to sadly come to a close and my Studio is in my living room, they are a reminder to me to slow down in the chaos.  Also, a reminder to pull my original art form out of it’s case…my camera and capture what is happening right around me.  I forgot how much I miss that obsession!  So I can choose to live life like a hummingbird and speed right through it or take a moment to stop and grab the camera.

Happy Sunday to all and remember to stop fluttering those wings so much and stop and taste the nectar……….I have a few more feeders to acquire this weekend.  Did I mention we have a hummingbird swing too!  I am determined to be the hummingbird hub of Ramona.  (does anyone see an issue with all my obsessions and the OCD of living with my studio in my living room….cookoo for cocoa puffs!)

Many experiences are inherent in life – change, birth, death, aging, illness, accidents, and losses of all kinds – but these events don’t have to be the cause of ongoing suffering.  Yes, these events can cause heartache and stress, but heartache and stress pass, like everything else, and are replaced with other experiences.  The ego, however, clings to negative thoughts and feelings and, as a result, magnifies and sustains these emotions while it simultaneously ignores the subtle feelings of joy, gratitude, excitement, adventure, love, and peace that also exist.  When we dwell on these positive states at least as much as we generally dwell on our negative thoughts and painful emotions, our lives become far more fulfilling.”
