This saying popped into my head yesterday and I immediately felt the urge to hit my art journal and use it.  I rarely take that time for ME to just create so this was a special treat.  I also had to test and try out my new twStudios Ustream channel to make sure all was working so we had an imromptu gathering which was so fun! I am glad I thought to hit the record button!

This is the page that I created and I challenged those who were watching to use the same saying!

You can catch the whole unedited creative process here and boy do I love how this page turned out:

Love how I stole away from the hustle of life for some quiet time to create something just for ME.  It was itching to get on paper and everyone was crafting right along with me.  This got me thinking to add some morning/afternoon classes!  That is the quietest time for some of us!

Carisa Z. joined me and immediately emailed me her page so I could share it…….."I'm so glad I saw your post earlier – it was fun to see you midday on ustream and create something. I hardly EVER art journal during the day just b/c of the kiddos but I did a little bit here and there in between other things around the house and LOVE the final result. I'm going to keep it on display as a reminder that I can do things that I love and still do the things that need to get done…..a little bit at a time w/o over thinking it. Love you!!!" ~Carisa Z.

How awesome is that!

Carisa hit it on the head.  We are so busy with "things" that we forget to take that time for ourselves.  I cannot remember the last time I created when the inspiration hit me.

I hope this encourages you to take some ME time no matter what you like to do.  Sometimes for me it is just hitting the track/trails and walking a few miles or a bubble bath.  Today for me it was painting.

I have been asked to display/sell my art in an art show in May and need to keep the inspriation going.  Time to get some of my favorites from my art journal to canvas!
