Let’s create something quick, easy, and fun today in celebration of my birthday! All you will need to make this art journal piece is your watercolors, pen, and paintbrush. There is no excuse not to create when making something beautiful is this simple! I’ll be showing you step-by-step how to paint these colorful flowers.
First, start by prepping your watercolor paints by misting them with water. Then, tape off your art journal page with painter’s tape. I am just going to start by getting some yellow watercolor on my paintbrush and tapping it with another brush over my page to create a splatter effect. Let dry or dry with a heat tool.
Next, I’m going to grab some dark blue watercolor paint and create some flower petals along with some more splatters. I’ll also add some green watercolor petals too. Let dry or dry with a heat tool.
I’m going to take some purple and fill in some of the white gaps, along with some more paint splatters. Let dry or dry with a heat tool.
Now, let’s draw! Take your Molotow Blackliner pen and add some circles in your yellow centers to create some texture there. Then, draw out your petals and add some detail lines on each petal. This does not need to be perfect! Have fun with it.
