Our Player of the Game

Last Saturday Tyler had a great basketball game and since I have not shared any basketball pictures this seaon I thought today was a good day since he made the local paper.  He was listed as Player of the Game (beaming mom smile here!)

Leprechauns- 32           Aztecs- 21
Leprechauns Coach Ken comments were, “The Leprechauns and Aztecs squared off for game 6 of the season at the OPMS gym. Both teams came out with an aggressive defense to keep the game low scoring with no more than 6 points separating the teams through 3 quarters. In the fourth quarter the action picked up with the Leprechauns getting scoring help from their guard positions to open an 8-point lead. Coach Harvey and the Aztecs countered by applying full court pressure to try to close the gap but the Leprechauns held on for a tough victory. Top rebounders for the Leprechauns included Lucas and Max  with Anthony , Tyler and Colin leading the scoring effort. This week’s player-of-the-game award goes to Tyler Burgos. Despite playing only 2 quarters this week, Tyler led the offense at the guard position, scored 6 points and hustled when playing defense. Nice job Tyler!” The Leprechauns Colin once again led the team with excellent play scoring 13 points. Anthony and Tyler’s good scoring with 6 each helped give them the win. For the Aztecs, their main weapon, Davis played another excellent game scoring 11 points. Dane played well on both ends of the court and scored 6 points down in that tough paint to help lead the Aztecs attack.

Before you ask I have no idea why they are called the Leprechauns.  So proud of him!

Oh I know he would kill me for posting this but a proud mommy has to take her chances.  It has been a fun basketball season watching him.

I feel a giveaway coming!  I organized some things in my office and feel the need to celebrate by giving something away.  Stay tuned………….
