When in Rome…I Mean Los Angeles

My overnight trip was not complete until I took Friday off to just do some sight-seeing and relax.  I needed some “me” time and I chose to do it on foot in Los Angeles……..

LA1

I made time to see The Grove and The Los Angeles Farmers Market where you can get every type of food imaginable!  It is a foodie’s heaven…..I had a stroganoff crepe and chased that down with fried plantains! (thank heavens I did tons of walking!)

One thing I noticed along my walks was all the blooming flowers!

LA2I also managed to sneak in a dinner at SUR……….for you closet fans of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules yes I did see Sheena working and Jax was there.  I asked Jax about his Detroit Tigers hat he was wearing and he proceeded to tell me what a dump Michigan was and he was glad he moved from that depressing place.  Sorry but this Michigan born and proud to be raised girl was not impressed and thought better of even asking for a photo.  Don’t wear the hat if you don’t have the pride!  The food was good and it was a great place to people watch!

I took in Rodeo Drive and saw some beautiful things!!!  I could afford the free water that was given to me at The Coach Store and got in my share of window shopping!

LA5My last stop on the way out was to Duff’s CakeMix where I picked up some cupcakes that were delicious!

LA6aFrom there it was a 4 hour car ride home but so worth the traffic.  I enjoyed the day and was ever more thankful to hit San Diego.  This Real Housewife of Ramona was happy to hit the country air and the small country living.  But I was thankful for the creative getaway and some much needed time off.  I do enjoy those solo retreats and reminded myself I need to stop more often. I am overdue to take some time at the beach!  That time is needed to recharge the batteries and come home feeling refreshed!  Home sweet home……

Stop discrediting yourself for everything you aren’t, and start giving yourself credit for everything you ARE.  We have to learn to be our own best friends, because sometimes we fall too easily into the trap of being our own worst enemies.”
