Learn how to paint this stunning bold and gold flower art piece! I’ll show you how to paint your flower and then add all of the detail lines and paint splatters to make your art journal page come to life. This will easily take you 30 minutes or less – perfect for a quick art session or if you are just getting started in the art journaling world!

Prep your art piece by taping off the edges of your page with painter’s tape. Then, mist your watercolor paint palette with water.

I am using pinks, reds, and purples to paint large petals. Also, paint a yellow flower center. You want your petals to be a little offset to the left. You want this to be bold and beautiful! Then, take some green and blue to paint your background areas. Dry with a heat tool.

Next, I am going to take a black Posca Pen and outline my flower petals and flower center with thick lines. Then, I’ll take a Molotow Blackliner pen and doodle some swirls and designs onto my petals.

adding detail lines

I’ll take a liner brush and Decoart Extreme Sheen:  24K Gold paint to add some more detail lines. I’ll outline my petals and flower center with a painted gold line.

Finally, I’ll add some gold splatter! Take a fan brush, water it down, and dip it in your gold paint. Then, tape your brush above your page to create some splatters. Dry with a heat tool. Remove your painter’s tape and enjoy!
