Do you have the image of Chubby Checker singing ”The Twist’?
Come on baby let’s do the twist
Come on baby let’s do the twist
Take me by my little hand and go like this
Ee-oh twist baby baby twist
Get that song in your head and keep on reading………
What a wonderful time with my two boys at our School Mother/Son Sock Hop. At one point I was dancing with them and did not want to be any other place in the world. We literally danced the night away. There was a hula hoop contest for mom’s and sons. I found it quit humous that other mom’s were taking bets on who would be the best hula hooper and someone actually bet on me! That little hoop wants nothing to do with my hips. There was also a limbo contest. Again, this is another compition where a 5’8" woman has no business being in. I am about as flexible as 2′ X 4′ wood plank. It was a lot of fun.
My boys sure put their groove on. I never realized they were such big fans of 50’s music. Watching JoJo do "The Twist" was priceless. We Mashed Potato’d, Twisted, Bopped, and Hand jived! I twisted and twirled the boys until our feet about feel off.
Ask and you shall receive……….I managed to come up with the Poodle skirt! The boys and I actually tied for third place for Best Dressed. What an honor because everyone looked so great. So to my two dates………….Thank you for making your mom feel like the princess of the Ball. I loved holding you both and dancing the night away. The best way to share this special night is with photos!
Meanwhile, Michaela and Pete had a date of their own. Pete took her to Outback for dinner. She was so cute getting all dressed up. She came in ready for her date with a dress, nylons and dress shoes. She had a great time with Dad and he loved the time too.
