Christmas is over and I am happy to say mine was filled with family, friends and love. What more could you ask for. Oh it was also filled with most of the kiddos being home and of course The Furball…
As we go into a new year I am not the sort to make resolutions. I pick a word of the year that inspires me to do more, share more and live more. As a general rule I eat right and push myself to move my rear so don’t feel the need for resolutions. In previous years my Word of the Year has been.
- 2016 – More
- 2015 – Write
- 2014 – Believe
- 2013 – Breathe
- 2012 – Patience
- 2011 – Trust
I am carefully choosing my word for 2015 and am down to two of them…. Stay tuned as I am ready to share soon. I hope you are thinking of yours and join me. We will use our words for Mixed Media Monday! I have resigned myself to a few things in 2017 to build from the past:
Write More…Believe in life as it unfolds, take those precious moments to Breathe. Have patience and trust that there is always a plan greater then you ever imagined!
So today’s random message is my return to writing from the heart and sharing those special moments….even the one just from a Starbucks!
And I am happy to say I am painting….writing and more to come in 2017! That means even more to share. Gotta go…Basketball is starting soon. I hate to leave this place but enjoyed the quiet time before the sounds of basketball.
Do you have your Word?
Embracing adversity is the key to learning who you are under pressure. It builds confidence which will enable you to reach higher toward your abundant life”

I have done the One Word thing before and resolutions. I’m not feeling either one this year. Not sure if I’m going to do anything yet.
I get it Jen! I am pushing myself this year! trust me it is a push and we will be glad we did it.
I have been trying to decide on a word for 2017 and think that Embrace will be the chosen word. I want to embrace change, patience, love, life and my passion…CREATING!
It may change between now and the 31st but that is the word that I keep coming back to.
Have a great time at basketball! I cannot wait till my grandkids start playing sports because I miss the camaraderie with the other parents or in our case, grandparents!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and I know the new year will bring many good things your way!! Good comes to those who are good! 🙂
thank you lovely Barb! I love your word!
Tracy – I have been doing the same thing (choosing a word for each new year) for more than 10 years and choosing a Power (Totem) Animal for support each year as well.
My 2017 word is CLARITY … and my Power/Totem Animal is the TURTLE.
Thank you for ALL you do and have done to promote exploring ‘our’ creativity and inner artists !! Happy New Year !!
… Bonnie – WA state adventurer !
oh Bonnie! I love the idea of a Power Animal! Thanks for the inspiration!!
I’m suggesting you don’t pick MORE again this year….LOL… boy, did you live that one in abundance. My word for the year is going to be NEW… ominous and life-changing and revitalizing…
LOL! I thought of that. I love your word! ♥
I thought of ‘change’ initially, but thoughts of deodorant and socks sort of put me off that one. But 2017 will be a year of change for me, so I’ve taken inspiration from Yoda. “Do or do not,” he says, “There is no try.”
So my word will be ‘Do!’ for I have procrastinated enough.
Happy New Year 🙂
Kim I love that LOL! I too have the belief you do not try but you DO! Try implies you will not put everything into it.
Thinking! Not sure. Perhaps ’emerge’. Out of the shadows into the light. Ugh… that’s big… so still thinking!!! j.
That is big my sweet friend……….you have been a blessed angel in my world! ♥
My word of Promise last year did not work, as in promise to put me a little more first in my life…..so for this year I am going a little stronger and picking the word Moi………I will still do things for the others in my life, but there has to be a relaxed, refreshed, strong and healthy Moi, before I can feed everyone what they need…so thus the word……Moi
I LOVE IT Marcia and love you for sharing that insight! ♥
