Inspiration is everywhere – sometimes, it’s as close as the shirt you’re wearing! In this watercolor art tutorial, I’ll show you how to create a beautiful art journal page featuring three flowers inspired by the floral design on my shirt. It’s a reminder that creativity can be found in everyday moments, and it’s important to take time each day to nurture your artistic spirit. This simple art journal page is perfect for beginners and a great way to bring a touch of nature into your artwork!
Prep your art journal page by taping off the edges with Painter’s Tape and misting your watercolor palette with water.
I’ll start by adding three golden yellow circles to my page to create the flower centers. Dry with a heat tool. Next, I’ll paint pink flower petals on my largest flower center. I’ll dry that with my heat tool because I don’t want the colors blending too much on this art piece.
Finally, I’ll paint purple flower petals and mint green flower petals around the other two flower centers. Dry with a heat tool again.
Add water to your background with your paintbrush. Then, add drops of light blue watercolor paint, letting the water blend the color. Dry with a heat tool.
Use Molotow pens to sketch and add detail lines to your flowers and petals. Remove the painter’s tape and enjoy!
