Let’s brighten your art journal with bold florals! In this watercolor art tutorial, we’ll layer vibrant reds, oranges, purples, and yellows. Then, we’ll sketch and detail flowers, filling in the negative space to make our flowers pop. Perfect for all skill levels!
Prep your art journal page by taping off the edges with painter’s tape. Mist your watercolor palette with water and let them soak for a minute or two.
We are working “wet on dry” for today’s project. Add bright, bold colors to your page, like reds, oranges, purples, and yellows. Dry with a heat tool.
Use a permanent pen to sketch the same flower over and over again throughout the page. Add detail lines on the petals, and then use a Sharpie marker to fill in the negative space on your background.
