Tracey, I love your work! It’s absolutely beautiful! You’re such an inspiration, you have a great attitude, your funny. You are truly blessed to have a God given talent. Thank you for sharing it! Yes there is a but…but I feel I need to get this off my chest and move on. When I 1st saw the BADASS info etc I just passed it by. First word I saw was BADASS and to me it was a turn off. Today I went back to read through it and it made my stomach turn. I know it’s not meant in a bad way by any means but it is the 1st word that definitely stands out. I know we’re all different, maybe it’s our up bringing. I believe there’s other ways to get our attention to a new year & new projects etc. I don’t know who wrote it, it doesn’t matter. It won’t stop me from painting with you. Keep doing what your doing! 🩷
Sue I 100% agree and have that same thought. I do appreciate your comment and am open to different perspectives. I will say that I choose to participate in this HOWEVER I do not organize the event nor did I name it. I myself do not align with using such words in my workshops and classes. I see the coordinators side of things and her wanting to empower women/artists and I am associated with the event so in some regards it does appear I “like” the name. I like the group of teachers and the idea behind this only and did make the decision to participate despite the name.
I am glad that you still will paint along with me and shared your thoughts and concerns. Trust me I did struggle with this but am proud of the work I do and what I stand for.
