I saw this on Pinterest (Could not find original source to credit) and it really hits home for me…
42 years of my life I have been creative. My mom swears I was born with a camera in my hand and a pair of scissors (ok, the visuals on that are too much) but you know what I mean. I have been taking pictures and have albums and albums of my life. My art has changed and evolved to a place I just love. It is mine…….a culmination of learning from others, taking it all in and just being simple me. It is not "Shabby chic", "impressionism"…….but "Tracyism". It took years of bringing together what I love into what makes ME happy when I am creating.
I put in my time of years of trying to get published (proudly checked that off the list numerous times), working for numerous design teams with hundreds of deadlines, work with manufacturers and knocking on every creative door. A path I am very proud of. That experience of working with so many diverse products brought me to where I am today…….simply Tracy. Give me an art journal, my favorite paints, MY favorite products (I know decide which patterned paper suits my mood and me best) and of course my charcoal pencil and I am happy.
It is my time…..my inspiration to share. Am I a teacher "certified" to teach Art? Nope, nobody handed me a diploma but I have handed myself the freedom to do what I love and create what matters to me. I use the incorrect art terms, make them up as I go along and in fact last week used a word I had no idea was in the Urban Dictonary. Those are the things that make me happy. I am the world's thriftiest crafter and will find the most inexpensive things to get creative with BUT it is me! AND I continue to learn, evolve and share doing what I love.
So what has 42 years of life brought me? Well, I saw this the other day on SITE and I love these things about being YOU from Marc and Angel Hack Life:
- Get your priorities straight.
- Take full responsibility for your goals.
- Know your worth.
- Choose the right perspective.
- Don’t let your old problems punish your dreams
- Choose the things that truly matter.
- Love YOU.
- Accept your strengths and weaknesses.
- Stand up for YOU.
- Learn from others, and move on when you must.
- Be honest in your relationships.
- Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.
- Be who you were born to be.
- Never give up on YOU.
All of these items can be attributed to Art and your creativity.
I thank those who join me Monday nights for nothing more than time to get creative and inspire another. I am thankful for comments like this:

"
There are no accidents. If it's appeared on your life radar, this is why: to teach you that dreams come true; to reveal that you have the power to fix what's broken and heal what hurts; to catapult you beyond seeing with just your physical senses; and to lift the veils that have kept you from seeing that you're already the person you dreamed you'd become. And believe me, that was one heck of a dream." ~Mike Dooley
