When DecoArt sent me their Media Line to work with I was in creative overload.  The colors, mediums and Andy Skinner stencils are awesome!

I was ready to dig in IMMEDIATELY! My first project was an 9″ X 12″ Canvas.  I went right from my art journal to canvas and LOVED each of the products I used.

MATERIALS:  DecoArt Media Line:

  • Media Fluid Acrylics (Quinacridone Violet, Green Gold, Cobalt Turquoise Hue, and Primary Yellow)
  • Modeling Paste (Black)
  • Crackle Paint (White)
  • Gesso (White & Black)
  • Gloss Varnish
  • Crackle Paint (White)
  • Andy Skinner Stencils
  • Brush & Stencil Cleaner

  1. Brush on Media Fluid Acrylics (Green Gold and Cobalt Turquoise Hue) on canvas to create background.
  2. Paint flower with Gesso (White).
  3. Color in Flower with Media Fluid Acrylics (Quinacridone Violet & Primary Yellow)
  4. Use Modeling Paste (Black) on Andy Skinner Stencil on sides and corners.
  5. Use Crackle Paint (White) on stems and leaves.  Let air dry and crackles naturally!
  6. Use the word “Create” from Andy Skinner “Serendipity” Stencil using Gesso (Black)
  7. Use 3B Charcoal Pencil, DecoArt Canvas Paint Pen and Uniball White Signo to doodle Details
  8. Finish with Gloss Varnish to seal and protect your project.
  9. Wash all Stencils and Brushes with Brush & Stencil Cleaner

This is one of those canvases you just have to feel for the texture and dimension….
