Let’s paint some golden blooms today with lots of bright colors! I am going to be using watercolor paint, acrylic paint, and an ink pad to create this art piece. I’ll also show you how to add paint splatter to your artwork to create more texture. Let’s get started!
Prep your art piece by taping off the edges of your paper with painter’s tape. Mist your watercolor palette with water.
Start by adding blobs of water to your paper, which we will turn into flowers. Then, add color to each water area and let the water blend your paint. I’m using lots of yellows and oranges with some brown in the centers. Add some green to your background. Dry with a heat tool.
Next, I’ll take my Molotow Blackliner pen and start sketching out my flower petals and centers. Then, I’ll take a fine and ultra-fine Sharpie and add some more detail lines and texture.
Take some Decoart Media Carbon Black acrylic paint and a stencil brush and dab some color on your flower centers. I’ll also do the same with some Extreme Sheen 24k Gold.
Add dark green watercolor paint to the background of your art piece. Dry with a heat tool.
Let’s create a splatter effect. Mix some black acrylic paint with water, dip a fan brush into your mixture, and tap the brush over your page to add splatter. Dry with a heat tool again.
Finally, take a black ink pad and a larger stencil brush and add ink around the edges of your art piece. Remove the painter’s tape and enjoy!
