I love that I get the honor to be there for a second prom. There is so much in life to be thankful for and adding to my life and family is top priority. On this day I was able to straighten up a bow tie, straighten a shirt, tug on a coat and pose him for a ridiculous amount of pictures he endured, and generally be a pain but he will never know just how much it means to me that he allowed me to do it. His foundation is wonderful and I get the pleasure to stand up and support him as he moves forward……..
I enjoyed capturing this second prom and seeing them off. Hard to explain how sentimental I get over the two oldest boys right now..
Regardless I feel very lucky and blessed that these men grant me the pleasure of being part of these times……
I hope he knows that whenever he needs a shirt tugged, a bow tie straightened, someone to nag him if he has everything (and drive over what he forgot), etc. that I will be happy to do just that as I do for my own. That’s what we do.
Realize that today will never come again. Be a blessing. Be a friend. Be there for the one who matters most. Make a difference. Take time to care. Tell that significant other just how special they are. Do something that encourages a smile and a brighter day. By doing so, you will not only help them, you will help yourself too. Because when you seek to inspire happiness in someone close to you, you will not only find it, you will become it.
Made my tears flow. You are such a loving and embracing person to be his new mom surrogate. Thank you for sharing this intimate part of your life.
Funny thing is Bonnie, the mom thing is easy for me (well, not always!). The best job in the world. Making them ALL feel special is the part I think of most and the fact is that I feel like the lucky one! ♥
