I have tried lately to TAKE some time away from the projects and shows I am preparing for to just play in my art journal. I don’t capture the step-by-step instructions so I am not slowed down in the creative process. This is just a place to play, no mistakes and see where the art takes me. Here are the latest pages….

Then there was this piece where I pulled out some new colors to play with like Quinacridone Gold and Transparent Yellow Oxide (not a fan of those browns)…..but for my Creative Dare with Andy Skinner I am in it to win it!
Finally this was a fun page that I loved every step of the process…..
From these pages I draw ideas for Mixed Media Monday, I see what different products I love and play with different techniques. It is important I TAKE this this time. It kind of frees my creative spirit too! It is important to remember to TAKE the time…there is only so much time in the day, the the week, the months and there is time to Taken for YOU.
Purpose is the reason you journey. Passion is the fire that lights your way. Without passion, it’s impossible to progress. The heart of human excellence begins to beat when you discover a pursuit that absorbs you, frees you, challenges you, and gives you a sense of meaning. Some resist this fact and think passion is just fluff. Well that’s nonsense! Honestly, the saddest people I’ve ever met in life are the ones who don’t have a deep passion about anything at all. Passion and satisfaction go hand in hand, and without them, any happiness is only temporary, because there’s nothing meaningful behind it to make it last. So remember, if you cannot put your heart in it, take yourself out of it. Only passions – great passions – can elevate the soul to great heights. If there was ever a moment to follow your heart and do something that matters to you, that moment is now.”

Quite simply beautiful Tracy. So very beautiful. The flower, colours, words and drips on the first are wonderful, I just love the colours that you’ve used so much. The depth of colour in the background, the white flower, red doodled heart – that takes my breath away!

I just love this piece Tracy, love the flowers peaking from under that heart like it is waking up with the spring that is coming soon! I really do think it needs to be a stamp! Love the blues of the background as well. Don’t sweat the challenge of the steampunk, you have it in the bag! 😀
