Sometimes you have to leave your normal environment and take a creative getaway. I did just that Friday morning. I packed up my travel art suppplies and headed to our local Starbucks. With headphones and my favorite Pandora station to suit the mood I grabbed my art journal and just doodled the time away (the time flew by)….here are the pages I created:
I found the uninterrupted time from being home (laundry, kids, dog, too many art supplies to choose from, sparkly things, etc.) it was easy to just use what I have and take in the moment…plus they serve really good tea!
I highly suggest it as it was rejuvenating and downright good for the creative soul…
I grabbed my notebook to remind myself to do this again and soon!
Take those creative field trips! They don’t have to cost a lot of money and feel so great!
One of the most foundational sources of both success and happiness is simply being comfortable with who you really are. Not trading your reality for a role or your truth for an act. Not giving up your freedom of thought. Not putting on a mask. So never let anyone’s ignorance, hate, drama or negativity stop you. If you desire to make a difference in the world, you must continue to be different from the world. Don’t be scared to walk alone on your own path, and don’t be scared to like it.”
Hi Tracy! I love working on art at Starbucks! I’ve written so much of my novel there, I’m actually considering adding “Starbucks” to my dedication page when it’s finished lol
One thing I haven’t done much of, but would like to in future, is work on my art journal there as well (especially once I’m finally finished writing this book!). I am very curious to read more about your travel adventures! Thanks for sharing!
AWESOME Mellena! Glad to know I am not the only one! It is so nice in there! Good luck on your book!
