What a great Thanksgiving we had. From start to finish it was great. I valued each and every second especially since we had family in town….my cousin Christine. There is nothing like family for the holidays. From the scary moment when I woke up and heard giggling I just knew that nothing good could be going on……sure enough matching PJ's (did I mention my family is crazy?)
Dinner was a family effort. Christine and the kids were on desert duty and started out the day by making an apple pie (yes they cooked in those PJ's).
Then I was on for the dinner……bring on that turkey (AND NO dropping it on the floor this year…GO ME!):
The best part was talking via Facetime to our family in Michigan and blowing air kisses to our 96 year old grandma. Love you guys!
We all took part in preparations and setting the table…
The best was sitting down and sharing it together. That dinner that took all day to cook took us 9 minutes to eat.
We are so lucky to come from such a fun and amazing family. As we went around the table it was never more evident that fact is not lost with my kids.
This is how I ended my day………
Here is a slide show of the day's events………………..
We all need that time to take a load off and soak in the day. I am ever so Thankful this Thanksgiving and every day! Now bring on Christmas and my parents coming here. I cannot wait to share a wonderful Christmas this year. This Thanksgiving was the prefect start to the holiday season! I hope yours was too!
"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow." ~Melody Beattie
