✨ Something new I want to try… ✨
This idea came to me while I was reading the first chapters of a book, and I thought… why not invite others to read along with me?
Being new to my local community here in North Carolina, I don’t even know where book clubs meet or who I’d invite — so why not start with the community I already love? 💛
The book I just started is Becoming an Artist by Scott Christian Sava, an artist I follow on TikTok. First of all… the second I opened the book, that sweet, nostalgic scent of certain elementary school textbooks wafted into the air. Please tell me I’m not the only one who loves the smell of certain books 😄 So thank you to Hay House for that little moment of joy.
Then there’s the feel of the pages… and before I get too carried away — the artwork. Scott illustrates his words with beautiful Payne’s Gray art, and it’s just great.
I’m only on Chapter 3, but this book is speaking to me. I’m taking it in word by word, like a fine wine, not wanting it to end. And it made me think… how fun would it be to read this together and talk about it?
So here’s my idea:
📖 Let’s give ourselves about a month to read the book
💻 Then meet on Zoom to chat and discuss it
📅 Tentatively thinking January 12th at 12:00 pm EST (date/time may be adjusted!)

This is nothing formal — no fancy book club name (yet 😉), no pressure, no homework. Just artists and creative friends coming together to talk about a book that’s near and dear to my heart… art. My thought is that this could be a really lovely way to start a reading habit in 2026, and honestly, what better topic to talk about than creativity and the life of an artist?
And yes… I may have already messaged Scott on TikTok (we’re totally on a first-name basis now, right? 😆) and he replied! I also found out that he has twins too, and clearly that must make us friends — fellow twin parents instantly bond, right? 💛 Sure wish I had the guts to even invite him to join us (okay… maybe I’m pushing it a bit). He’s doing the dream art and AUTHORING — my dream — and sharing his passion for art in such an honest way. I’d love to share this book with you.
