This project was featured in the premier issue of Mixed Up Magazine!  It is time to paint outside of the box….literally round vs. square. It is fun to change up your surfaces in materials and shapes.  This is my Tree of Blossoms……

  1. Brush on small strokes to create patchwork pattern using DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic (Primary Magenta, Dioxazine Purple and Quin Violet) mixed with DecoArt Media Gesso (White).  Repeat until entire canvas is covered.
  2. Darken/Distress Edges with dry brush (DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic (Prussian Blue Hue)
  3. Add white accents with edge of credit card or palette knife DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic (Titanium White)
  4. Seal entire surface with DecoArt Media Matte Medium
  5. Brush in Tree Trunk with Decoart Media Gesso (White)
  6. Paint tree trunk with DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic (Burnt Sienna and Raw Umber)
  7. Add blossoms with fingers using DecoArt Media Gesso (White)
  8. Add center of flowers with the end of brush handle DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic (Pyrrole Red, Vermilion, and Diarylide Yellow)
